Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL) is an entrance test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enrol in English-speaking universities.If you wish to study or work in a foreign land to gather international exposure, TOEFL is the test to start with.The TOEFL test is the most widely respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 10,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries. Your TOEFL score stays valid for 2 years.
TOEFL test covers 4 major sections-
- writing of the English language
Task - Reading 3 or 4 passages from academic texts and answering questions
Duration – 60-80 minutes
Task - Listening to academic lectures, classroom discussions and conversations, and answering questions
Duration – 60-90 minutes
Task - Expressing an opinion on a familiar topic; speaking based on reading and listening tasks
Duration –20 minutes
Task - Writing essay responses based on reading and listening tasks; supporting an opinion in writing
Duration –50 minutes
Test duration is 4hours, approximately.According to the TOEFL Test Pattern, candidates get a mandatory break for 10 minutes after the Reading and Listening sections.To enter the top universities, you are expected to have a TOEFL score of approximately 100/120, with minimum 25/30 in each section.TOEFL 2018 will be conducted online for more than 50 times over the period of 12 months at 4500 test centres in 165 countries worldwide.
Most countries conduct the Internet-based test whereas some countries conduct the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered TOEFL test. Exams are usually held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A candidate may retake a test as many times required. But the test cannot be taken within 12 hrs of the previous exam taken.
TOEFL test is not restricted with any such eligibility criteria. Ordinarily a pass in 10+2 level of any recognised Indian Board or University is a suitable qualification to take the TOEFL, or you can appear in TOEFL after seeking your Under graduate degree as well. Apart from clearing the TOEFL cut-off, the university you get intothrough TOEFL might have an admission criterion to be fulfilled.

- Set location and date for the TOEFL 2018
- Fill academic background information required forregistration
- Make payment through American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard or VISA
